Caroline Parker brings lifesaving messages to parents

Many parents will already know Caroline Parker. She's a mum of three and creator behind the popular social media account @mummysflippinhouse. With more than 1.4 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, alongside a successful YouTube channel and podcast, Caroline is a well‑known and trusted voice on family life.

Caroline understands the importance of first aid first‑hand, having once performed CPR on her own daughter. So, when she recently staged a series of live shows for parents and children at Epsom Playhouse, called Caroline’s Assembly, she invited St John Ambulance to take part.

St John first aider and mum Flora Streeter, a proven lifesaver, demonstrated what to do if a baby or child is choking or in cardiac arrest. After some sobering statistics about child CPR and choking incidents were delivered, Flora calmly guided the audience through the steps that can save a life. To help parents remember the rhythm of chest compressions, she showed how counting along to Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club can help.

St John Fundraising Volunteers were also on hand to speak with guests about our work, alongside a table of merchandise and family‑friendly activities.

Caroline said:

“I couldn’t believe that only one in eight children survives an out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest. I know from my own experience that immediate CPR is crucial, so I really wanted to help others learn these essential skills.”

She added:

“Caroline’s Assembly is all about learning in a warm and safe space, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to share lifesaving knowledge with parents.”
