The St John Ambulance Ten Second Triage Kit (TST) is an NHS England approved kit, to be used during mass casualty emergencies or major incidents. First responders and emergency services will be able to use this to quickly and accurately prioritise casualties, based on how serious their conditions are.
It contains four types of triage bands housed within pockets for categorising patients as P1 (immediate), P2 (urgent), P3 (delayed), or Not Breathing. These bands are colour-coded, marked, and easy to apply as a result. For quick reference, users will find a wipe-clean triage algorithm and tally chart printed on a card — practical, even for those responders who are less experienced in the field.
The wallet itself is based on a heavy-duty waterproof exterior, while being able to fold down to a compact size of 32 x 15cm. This means that it is durable and can be taken almost anywhere. With two dog clips, it is easy to carry and deploy on the move. And, for situations where visibility is low, the reflective badge will ensure that this kit can be seen at any time.
