When you join St John Ambulance, we equip you with all the skills and knowledge you need to do you role.

From manual handling, to basic first aid, to youth leader principles, our courses are designed to cater to all skill levels and ensure that every volunteer is prepared to deliver their role with confidence.

Our training programmes include a range of activities, including self-led learning packages within our online learning platform, as well as instructor-led courses where you’ll train alongside your fellow new volunteers.

At St John Ambulance, we understand that starting something new can be daunting. That’s why we’re committed to supporting you while you get familiar with volunteering.

From your first day, you’ll receive ongoing support from fellow volunteers, as well as your dedicated induction buddy, helping you feel welcome and confident in your role. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other volunteers, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. Whether you’re attending your first event, leading your first duty or delivering your first youth session, you’ll never be alone — we’re here to ensure you feel at home from day one.
