Delivering our services

We have a wealth of experience working with Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Ambulance Trusts, NHS Foundation Trusts, and other healthcare providers. We are proud to support the NHS in a variety of ways. For example, supporting A&E discharge services, transferring patients from GP surgeries to hospital, and transporting children and newborns in need of clinical care.

We have over 140 years of experience delivering specialist ambulance services. Today, we remain pioneers. We continue to explore innovative solutions and services to meet the ever-changing needs of patients. We also aim to reduce service and cost demands for NHS trusts and other providers. We help to support this by releasing resources for deployment in other key priority areas.

Highly-skilled and professional ambulance staff

Our unique services combine professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency, as well as, a whole-hearted commitment to patients. They are delivered by our skilled and committed professional ambulance crews. These include paramedics, emergency ambulance crew, technicians, and other staff. All our paramedics have a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.

We recognise that exceptional care results in a positive patient experience and better health outcomes for all. By following our Patient Charter, we ensure the most efficient and dignified movement of patients. This is further underpinned by our robust clinical governance structure.

Safe and innovative specialist vehicles

The safety of crews, medical staff, patients, and their families is always at the forefront of our minds. We purchase our vehicles new, then convert them into specialist ambulances tailored to the unique needs of each service. Many are specifically designed to transport patients with additional complex needs. For example, high-dependency and bariatric patients. We also work closely with paediatric and neonatal clinicians to create new and innovative specifications for our vehicles.

Our ambulances are well-equipped with the highest quality of supplies, consumables, and equipment. We use our own internal supplier, St John Ambulance Supplies.
