Senior Commercial Solicitor

Reporting to the Head of Legal, as Senior Commercial Solicitor you will have a huge amount of autonomy and will have direct responsibility for providing legal advice on complex and routine Commercial Contracts with key stakeholders particularly the NHS, within the context of the Charities Act and other relevant legislation.

About You:

 

  • You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience and be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience of managing a varied workload.
  • You will have knowledge of handling major non-contentious commercial transactions, providing advice and working in a regulated environment
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial and fundraising contracts
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal

 

About the role:

 

The Legal Team is part of the Governance Directorate, which  identify and manage risks, to give assurances on the risk management and ultimately make St John a learning organisation.

 

  • Prepare, review and negotiate high-value complex and routine Commercial Contracts
  • Data Protection, Safeguarding and Intellectual Property advice to the whole of St John to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and risks are managed well
  • Working closely with the various Directorates to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Manage a portfolio focused on specific areas to directly provide comprehensive legal advice to key stakeholders
  • Protect the St John brand and the range of intellectual property rights
