St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
The post-holder will lead all functions in the SIAM team contributing to the predictable, safe, reliable and efficient operation of our Digital Data and Technology (DDAT) services . They will play a crucial role in ensuring that services are effectively integrated and managed across multiple service providers in a complex ecosystem, including coordination, governance and oversight of service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
They oversee and develop the practices needed to effectively design, implement, operate and govern the charity’s DDAT Services across a diverse supply chain that includes both internal and external supply. They provide strategic thinking and problem solving and use strong interpersonal skills to manage and coordinate diverse service providers effectively.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of complex technical environments and the technologies used in a large organisation as well as experience of working within and developing a mature service management methodology
- Experience in overseeing significant changes in service delivery such as transitions between service providers or technological upgrades and experience in managing transitions, transformations, and service evolution within a complex IT/DDaT ecosystem.
- Significant holistic proficiency in IT Service Management principles and frameworks
- Familiarity with vendor management principles, contract management, and performance evaluation
About the Role
- Accountable for the effective performance, delivery, governance and continual improvement of all Service Management & Service Integration processes and practices to a level fit for the needs of the charity
- Promote a culture of data driven management and decision making including a robust model of Critical Success Factors, Key Performance Indicators, Service Level and Operational Level Agreements for all Service Management, Service Integration and Information Security processes and practices
- Manage suppliers both internal and external, ensuring performance is in line with Service Level expectations and ensuring SJA are getting good value for money
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and facilitate CSI initiatives
