Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

Youth sessions occur weekly on various days of the week depending on the location. Youth Leaders would be expected to attend the majority of these sessions to ensure that we have sufficient leaders to provide our young people with reliable, regular training. Support will be given to new Youth Leaders to match them with a youth section that best suits their availability.

Selected candidates will be invited to a selection event which will comprise of an interview, ID checks, and an introduction to the organisation. Successful candidates will then be invited to the Network and inducted into the organisation. The proposed date for the selection event is Saturday 14th December (14/12/2024). All applicants should ideally be available for this, however we can facilitate alternate dates if required.
