Please note: you do not need to be a driver in order to train as Emergency Ambulance Crew, however it is helpful if you are willing become an ambulance driver. 

The role

The Emergency Ambulance Crew responds to emergency and non-emergency situations, where they assess and treat patients. They transport ambulatory/non-ambulatory patients and provide high quality, professional and compassionate care at all times, as well as providing support and coaching to junior crew.

Training and time commitment

The training and support we provide is as follows:

  • Welcome programme introducing you to the project & wider charity
  • Training in appropriate SJA policies
  • St John Safeguarding training relevant to your role
  • A comprehensive, accredited Emergency Ambulance Crew training course
  • The opportunity to be part of a local unit, where you will have ongoing support from peers and further learning & development opportunities
  • Out of pocket expenses.

Expected Time Commitment

20+ hours per month across at least two shifts.
