The hugely popular Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon with over 57,000 runners taking to the streets of Newcastle. This amazing race takes you through the heart of Newcastle, over the iconic Tyne Bridge and ending along the seafront at South Shields.

Live music, refreshments and thousands of cheering supporters will keep you motivated every step of the way. If you're lucky you might even spot the Red Arrows overhead!

We'll support you every step of the way

We’ll be there to help you meet your fundraising targets and to make the most out of your half marathon experience.

Our support package includes:

  • training and fundraising support
  • a St John Ambulance running vest
  • cheers of support from the St John Ambulance team out on the course
  • a certificate showing your fundraising total.
