No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
St John Ambulance provides support to external groups and the wider community which means that during
periods of severe weather or in the event of a major incident, it implements its emergency operations plans to
provide transport, first aid and care skills in support of NHS Trusts, Local Resilience Forums and communities.
Regional EPRR teams are responsible for planning and supporting First Aid Services regional managers and volunteer teams to be able to respond when the time comes.
Welcome external candidates with EPRR experience, or internal candidates with potential for development.
An EPRR Officer is required for the district of Hampshire & IOW, Kent and South London respectively.
Successful candidates will be required to represent St John Ambulance at meetings and events both at weekends and occasionally during the working week. Weekday meetings will tend to be Local Resilience Forums which are usually advertised well in advance. Candidates will need to have an elementary foundation of EPRR knowledge and experience, and willing to develop any identified gaps. This role is particularly suitable to an EPRR professional who would like to give back to the community, a newly qualified EPRR professional or student of Emergency Planning who would like to acquire experience in health EPRR, or an experienced member of St John Ambulance with relevant transferable skills.
Training opportunities will be provided both internally, and through facilitating access to training provided by partner organisations.
Interview locations will be based on demand. At least one selection day will take place in a location suitable for Hampshire and one for Kent.
New joiners to St John Ambulance will be loaded onto an organisational Induction Course, as well as a Team Induction course.
