St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response and Night Time Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
As Content Manager you will support the Brand Strategy & Content Manager and other senior leaders with the creation, planning, coordination, delivery and governance of content that supports fundraising and delivery of our charitable activity. Working across the organisation you will ensure there is consistency in process across the team and triage demand for content to ensure opportunities are prioritised, cost is managed and there is an effective and coherent external voice for the charity.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience creating, developing or editing content for impact which could include stories, graphics, videos etc
- Experience of leading on the development and co-ordination of content briefs and working with external agency partners and freelancers to deliver on time and to budget
- Experience of using consistent process to triage demand for content from multiple stakeholders, measuring against resource and deadlines
- Experience of creating, delivering and co-ordinating relevant multi-media content that aims to educate, inspire and engage key target audiences in line with our fundraising and charitable objectives.
- Experience of Identifying, curating and developing engaging stories & case studies to enable audience led communications
About the Role
- Planning for and delivery of content (stories, images, branding and campaigns) to build the Community First Aid movement, working with the Brand and Content Strategy Manager and colleagues in Fundraising, Volunteer Experience & Youth.
- Commissioning content creation from freelancers or agencies, overseeing a roster of suppliers, briefing them, managing quality, costs and timelines
- Analysis of performance of content to evaluate the impact of content against our goals, enable data driven decisions and draw learning into our future processes.
- Working with colleagues from across the organisation, manage the process for identifying and gathering a range of strong stories, case studies and testimonials that will demonstrate impact.
- Through a planning mindset, network with internal teams to plan, commission and source content, managing competing demands and aspirations for content and bring it together in a single plan for impact and delivery.
- Planning – finding quality content or content leads across the charity for development
- Sourcing content to fulfil briefs through management of a roster of freelancers and agencies where necessary (using a transparent process and in line with available resource) and at times creating or editing content yourself
