St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.

Job Summary

The role holder will be responsible for leading the Supplies sales team focussing on acquisition to achieve the revenue targets and business growth. Reporting into, and deputising for, the Supplies Commercial Manager, they will implement strategies across the Supplies Sales team and implement Partnerships as they are secured and onboarded. They will be responsible for developing an acquisition sales team, coordinating sales operations and implementing sales techniques that allow the business to meet and surpass its sales targets consistently. They work with high profile customers, evaluate budgets and determine ways to simplify and improve the sales process. They will set clear KPI’s and provide activity and sales reports to Supplies Commercial Manager helping to shape team strategy for further growth.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of consistently delivering against financial targets in a business-to-business environment
  • Experience of successfully leading a sales function and managing a team with evidence of providing clear leadership, developing team members and implementing clear processes and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience within a sales acquisition role including marketing, lead generation and onboarding
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders to develop individualised customer contact strategies and propositions to grow revenue and margin
  • Experience of working within a multi-channel and multi-product operation

 About the Role 

  • Lead the overall Supplies Sales activity for St John, delivering against individual and team KPI’s, providing appropriate reports to stakeholders and embedding a culture of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to and propose pricing strategies ensuring St John is in a strong commercial and competitive position and profit margin expectations are met
  • Implement and onboard secured partnerships negotiated by the Supplies Commercial Manager, these may be cobranded deals, licencing agreements and / or other commercial partnerships.
  • Ensuring a comprehensive understand of the full product range and supporting the Supplies sales team in fulfilling a complete account management role with the customers including up selling, cross selling and managing debt
  • Attend customer meetings with Supplies Sales Team to provide support and coach/mentor them to achieve higher performance
  • Support the Supplies Commercial Manager with the development of annual sales and profit budgets to contribute to the overall annual budget
