Who should attend?
The course is designed for managers, supervisors, business owners, and anyone responsible for health and safety for small and medium-size businesses.
Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
The course will help you to identify the legislation that’s applicable to your business and the steps you need to take to meet your legal requirements.
- Health and safety legislation
- How to stay informed
- Introduction to the language of health and safety
- Overview of how to comply with health and safety requirements
- Overview of risk assessments and basic procedures
A final assessment by the trainer.
Successful candidates receive a St John Ambulance certificate.
All those attending the course will be able to get exclusive impartial advice from our health and safety expert by email, to guide and advise you whenever you need it during the three years the certificate is valid.
