Key Stage 4 covers school Year 10 and Year 11, for children aged 14 to 16. The Department for Education recommends that KS4 pupils should know:

  • how and when to deliver CPR
  • the concept and use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

We've put together some great resources that you can download for free and use to teach your pupils everything they need to know.

A great place to start is downloading our pathway poster and scenario cards, which you can use for display and practical lessons.

KS4 first aid pathway poster (pdf 2.5MB)

KS4 first aid scenario cards (pdf 180KB)

Pupils should also know the concepts of common first aid emergencies, and you should provide them a recap of the first aid skills taught in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
