Essential first aid (adult)

Our updated Essential first aid for adults course is ideal for those who want to develop life saving first aid and CPR skills. On the course you'll find out what to do when initially faced with an emergency and how to react when faced with someone having a heart attack or seizure. This course covers the essentials of how to save a life and includes an AED (automated external defibrillator) demonstration.

Who should attend?

This course is for members of the public who want to learn how to deal with accidents, injuries and medical conditions involving an adult. It’s a practical course where you’ll simulate treating people in life-threatening situations.

We welcome young people from the age of 12 onto all our community first aid courses. If under the age of 16, a responsible adult member of the family or guardian must be in attendance for the duration of the course. The adult/guardian can be responsible for 2 young people per course, and must book a place on the course if they wish to be trained and receive a certificate.

You will need a basic command of English to attend this course. We are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, but our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
