Key Stage 3 is the first 3 years of secondary education and covers school Year 7, Year 8, Year 7, for children aged 11 to 14. The Department for Education recommends that KS3 pupils should know:

  • how and when to deliver CPR
  • the concept and use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

We've put together some great resources that you can download for free and use to teach your pupils everything they need to know.

A great place to start is downloading our pathway poster and scenario cards, which you can use for display and practical lessons.

KS3 first aid pathway poster (pdf 2.5MB)

KS3 first aid scenario cards (pdf 180KB)

Pupils should also know the concepts of common first aid emergencies, and that they are provided a recap of the first aid skills taught in Key Stage 2.
