This lesson is aimed at students who are already familiar with the primary survey. The teaching resources include a lesson plan and three posters. By the end of the lesson, your students will:

  1. know how to conduct a primary survey of an unresponsive and not breathing child and baby

  2. know the different techniques used to resuscitate a child and baby.

Who can deliver this first aid lesson?

The lesson plans can be delivered by teachers, higher-level teaching assistants, school nurses and youth leaders who have a current first aid qualification. The first aid qualification must cover the topic you are teaching.
