The lesson plan includes suggested activities and a presentation to help students learn more about asthma. By the end of the lesson, your students will:

  1. be able to recognise the symptoms of an asthma attack

  2. know how to respond appropriately

  3. learn how to reassure the casualty and help them use their inhaler.

Who can deliver this first aid lesson?

The lesson plans can be delivered by teachers, higher-level teaching assistants, school nurses and youth leaders who have a current first aid qualification. The first aid qualification must cover the topic you are teaching.
