How to host an eBay sale

  1. Decide what items you want to sell. Make sure they are good items that people will appreciate
  2. Take some good some good quality photos, showing the item in all its glory
  3. Log in to eBay
  4. Click on ‘Sell’
  5. When listing your item, scroll to the bottom and you will see a donation section where in they can select the charity. It will ask you how much you want to donate, so select your percentage and continue on your way
  6. Once the items are sold and received, the funds will go straight to St John Ambulance.


How to host a Facebook sale

  1. Log in to your Facebook account
  2. From your News Feed, select Marketplace
  3. Click + Create New Listing, then select Item for Sale
  4. Select Add Photos to upload a photo of your item from your computer
  5. Enter a title, the price, and your location, and select a category (example: Furniture, Baby & Kids). You can also add a description. To mark an item as Free, you can enter 0 as the price
  6. Click Next. If Next is greyed out, make sure you've included a category, title, price, location, and photo
  7. Select Publish to post your Marketplace listing
  8. Watch your items sell
  9. Once the money is in then send a donation directly to us at St John via our JustGiving linkor through our donation page.

How to host a Ziffit sale

  1. Download Ziffit from the App Store or Google play, or visit the desktop site
  2. Scan the items you want to get rid of, using your phone camera
  3. When all the items are scanned, click on the little basket ion in the top hand corner (please note: you must either have 10 items or £5 worth of items to sell)
  4. Then create an account and follow the instructions
  5. Ziffit will arrange for a courier to come and collect the items
  6. At the payment stage select "Donation" as the payment method and on the next screen, type in "St John Ambulance" as you chosen charity as the recipient.
  7. Once they have received your items, they will send the payment within a day!

How to setup a Facebook Fundraiser

  1. Log in to your Facebook account 
  2. On the left-hand side under ‘Explore’ click ‘Fundraisers’
  3. Click ‘Select Charity’ and type "St John Ambulance"
  4. Type in St John Ambulance
  5. Follow the step by step guide, we suggest you set your target as £200 and put a 3-month end date on your page
  6. Write a compelling story, pick your picture, and then create!
  7. Share the page on Facebook and your other social media channels

The donation come directly to St John, so you don’t have to worry about handling any cash
