Our Medical Response Team safely extract vulnerable patients from crowds and other difficult areas at large and small events.

Please note: this position is currently only suitable for people who already hold a clinical role as either Ambulance Crew, Healthcare Professional, or Advanced First Aider.

The role

Our Medical Response Team (MRT) safely and professionally look after patients in dense crowds (such as concerts) – typically by moving them to a safe location where other members of the St John Team can look after the patient. 

Training and time commitment

The training and support we provide is as follows:

  • Welcome programme introducing you to the project & wider charity
  • Training in appropriate SJA policies
  • St John Safeguarding training relevant to your role
  • MRT training, including working in crowds and hazardous areas
  • Out of pocket expenses.

Expected Time Commitment

Ideally around 2 weekend events per month, recognising there are more events during summer months.
